  • Sooo... After school today, I figured I'd take care of some business. So I loaded up the goods and headed to the Civic!

Then, of course, I had to get the car off of the ground. First the wheel dollies...

    Then the jack!

Great success. So I went on to change the tie rods, tie rod ends, lower ball joints (what a bitch!), and also putting on the camber arms. But of course I had to do a test fit first!

Oh dear... That'll never do! The car was sitting on the tire. So after a short while, some bloodshed, and some extra strut tower cutting, I ended up here...

Not bad...but not low enough. Something is holding it up, and although I didn't see anything hitting, I know it HAS to be the camber arms. So we'll see what I can figure out. No way in hell I'm gonna roll higher because of some gay control arms... Fuck that. So stay tuned!

                    • Haha, thanks guys! It's getting there. Fucking control arms... Why do they have to make them fat as hell?! SO gay. I'm just going to hack out where they're hitting, and if I need to box it in for structural integrity, then that's no problem. A little more of an ordeal than I had hoped, but oh well! That just makes it less likely to be duplicated. Haha Hopefully I'll get it aligned tomorrow or Friday! Then I just need to get the rears on.

Where do you go to get your alignments? and what ride height do you set at before you do?

Well, there's 2 Hibdon Tires locations around here that have in-ground alignment racks, and luckily each one is by both of my residences! I've never gotten the Civic aligned, but I'll probably raise the car around 1/2" or 3/4" so they can do it (mainly to get rid of the wheel tuck in back). It also helps that I get a gnarly Bridgestone employee discount.
