£98 council tax
£30/40 electric and gas
£30 Sky + £10 telephone line
£8 TV License (cheaper if you pay for full year though!)
£something for Water Rates
£150 General Food and supplies (unless you prefer tinned beans!)
that's roughly what i pay for a small 2 bed house anyways, but i do have a mrs and kid so food tends to be a bit pricey..

My spreadsheet has this,
Rent £500
Water £30
Electric £50
Gas £40
Council tax £100
TV Licence £12.50
TV / Sky / Broadband £15 (GF works at Sky, only pay LR for complete package)
Insurance £10
Food £150
Total = £910/month

My friend just rented a house we were looking at, 3 bed with a large driveway, new kitchen, garage, backs on to a field in a small town. £595, would be too big for us but surprised at the price.
