How is your rego system done though? We pay an amount based on cylinders, 4cyl $663, 6cyl $827, 8cyl $1005.....and they're saying it's probably going to go up. And if you've got a 5cyl like my last daily was, you don't get your own category, you just pay 6cyl price, same with rotors, 2 rotors, pay same as 4 cyl......it's retarded!!

It's funny you say that regarding personalised plates as NSW people usually scoff at our prices, but it's a one off.....you rent yours for 4 or 5 years and have paid them same, yet we own ours outright from day 1. You NEVER own yours technically, which must suck.

i would say your rego is more expensive then... from memory. NFI how ours is worked. Although, i do know our insurance is incredibly shit.

I used to own an EL fairmont Ghia, It had a V8, sunroof, coilovers, etc, but didnt look like anything odd (no stupid wheels or retarded exhaust) and i ran it at a legal height. It was worth probably $8k, but to comprehensively insure it, it cost almost $3k a year. So i never did

I'd also rather pay more intially for a private plate and then own it. I dont even have a custom plate, just got to choose my initials and numbers and i pay nothing, but my brother who has done the same but years later, has to pay a fee every year on top of normal rego haha
