  • Just went out to 'top up' my transmission fluid. (due to leaking driveshaft seal) No DIY guides etc... Saw a nice looking bolt on the top of the box that 'looked' a lot like a filler point. Confident me went ahead and funneled about 1ltr into it, thinking to myself... Surely it hasn't leaked that much, but still wasn't 'full'...

Went ahead and googled it and realised that the filler bolt is way down the bottom of the box :/

Loosened the actual 'filler' bolt and out poured pretty much all the fluid i had just poured in from the top... Idiot, would have been over filled by quite a lot if i didn't realise.

Yeah I've built a racecar befor apparently...

      • So this fuck up with my adapters is fucked.

Finding studs in the size I need is going to be expensive as fuck.
Priced them up, 100 pounds not including shipping.

If anyone can find 14x1.5 60mm press in studs for me locally and a hell of a lot cheaper, I'd much appreciate it.

          Tried local hardware shops?
Otherwise get adaptec to send you more, i know someone else who had to do that once because of the deep seats on merc wheels.
I probably should have also, but i lived with a few turns
Sarcasm is easily calculated on vortex dude. Take 4 parts GLI lip and divide by BBS RS. If you are left with a remainder, subtract it from omgmoarlow. Profit.

              No one local, it's fucked...

I didn't get the adapters from Adaptec in the end, got them locally made through Stu.
Probably should have just went with Adaptec and made sure I mentioned I needed longer studs. Oh well, live and learn.

              • In saying that, wonder how much they'd cost from Adaptec and/if they had any.

                          • From what Tim said he couldn't get bigger studs.

Having a look at the Sydney folks website now. I'll need to contact Tim in regards to getting the dimensions used for the current studs so I can actually look up what stud to use, ie the knurl diameter etc.

But that site looks promising, thanks man!
