still not accurate as you were 'sitting' therefore theres the difference of the excess elevation of yourself along with the platform thickness. Moreso the speed of the wind would have also effected the drop as that would have made the drop time longer that it should be for an exact 2.4m drop.

Thickness of platform still needs to be accounted for, but also if the phone had fallen from the truss, it would have mean that the drop was not a direct drop but a push to the side then drop. Therefore making the '2.4m' invalid. A direct drop would have been you suspending the phone at a certain height and then letting go, whereas in the case it was not.
