Things are happening... slowly.

I decided on 215/40R17 Nexen N6000 for my 17x9 wheels. I will be running the same size tyre on the front too.

Does anyone think that I should have gone 205/40R17 or do people think I made the right choice?
I was hoping for the edge/lip of the wheel to poke a bit when looking from directly behind but it didn't really end up like that. I am still pretty satisfied with it though.

Looks good, 205/40 is a bit small on a 9, especially if you put it on the back
If it doesn't scrub, shouldn't need more stretch

They probably just see it as a joke. I'd say the plate is just for aesthetics, there's nothing wrong with that. All it really needs to be complete exterior-wise is some nice wheels, but people always end up doing more than what they expect to.
