    Howdy!

i've been trolling this forum since last summer and finally got some funding together to begin working on my stance!
    A little about me:
I'm still in college so most "ultra baller" parts arent going to be visiting my car any time soon.
I am going to school for product design/industrial design.
I have an internship as a manufacturing engineer.
    A little about my car:
    2003 vw jetta 1.8t
5spd with 118k miles and still runs like new
so far its mostly stock save a motor mount and the badgeless front end.

I'm still a bit new to stance so I figured the best way to get started was to order up some budget coilovers and scour craigslist for a few decent wheels and see what I like.

anyways enough chat here is what I have done so far.

Then I found these on craigslist:
    5x114.3 17x8 bbs rx202's
the tires mounted on them are far to big for my car and the adapters that came with them push the tires out quite a ways.
I'm thinking thinner adapters in the front and drop the 245/45/17 tires down to a 215/45/17 and they will look much better!

Wednesday I'm planning to pick these up barring anything unusual like having them sold out from under me:
    BBS RC090 (bmw style 5's)
    17x8 et20
the plan for these is to get them re-drilled to 5x100 and hopefully run them with no spacers or perhaps just a small spacer in the back.

so anyways that is my progress thus far!

            welcome to StanceWorks

a drop would help you the most and mill those adapters down for the rx2, you should be able to get those to sit perfect with that et

that is what I originally wanted to do!

i have some bad news. yesterday on the way to work the timing belt that I was told had been replaced 10k miles ago sheared 5 teeth and my car is currently down.

I am facing a head rebuild and potentially a bottom end rebuild as well. which means I'm going to have to unload both sets of wheels before I ever get to make them fit on the car properly
