  • 4x100 15mm spacers help?!

so I'm about to put 15mm spacers on my civic & I'm going to need to shorten the stock lug studs that's on the car.. will it be alright to grind them down short enough for the wheel to fit or do I need to replace them with shorter ones?

I don't know if I completely understand what your asking...

If your installing 15mm spacers, the stock lug studs will be shortened because your taking up 15mms of thread. You will need to extend your lug nuts if you do not have enough thread - not shorten them.

But to answer your question - You shouldn't grind them down you will ruin the threads. If you choose this route I would first thread on a Die (from a tap & die set) Once you've got your desired length you back the Die off correcting your thread.

the spacers themselves have 4x100 lugs, so when I put them on.. the old lugs will hit the wheel due to them sticking through the spacer.

He's trying to use bolt on spacers, and his original studs are hitting the backs of his wheels. I would suggest you just step up to 20mm spacers, they'll solve your issue without grinding down all your studs man.

yeah, I wanted to use 15mm spacers to clear my calipers & not be too wide since they're jnc 003 15x9 0 offset.. but I guess I could go with 20mm. I just ordered them & they haven't shipped so I might be stuck with them.. ps. I was reading your ek hatch build last night, Dremetos! lol
