  • New to the stance in an American car and a story

Well, I come from a background of motorcycling since I was 18 and actually didn't really get into the car scene until now even though cars were always a passion; I have a preference to them over motorbikes any day.
I am 20 going through college to become a civil engineer and am doin this all without any parental help financially, so all you lucky bastards that get get help I'm jealous lol. So, obviously money is tight and cars are way more expensive to modify then bikes.
Here's the last bike I owned did a decent restoration because it was a pile when I got it, everything was pretty much custom because there is no aftermarket for it including that exhaust, and this bike had the most amazing exhaust noise I've ever heard.

First car was a 87 fiero gt that was a $350 barn find that hadn't run in 10 years, fixed it so it ran well, sold it for $1300 after a month.
Next car was a 92 mr2 that changed my life. Bought it this January for a project build. It was great 110k on the clock smogged ac working etc for 2k. Then come a couple months later and I smashed it into a tree at 40mph on a very curvy road in the rain. Somebody clipped the double yellow line tried to move the car and felt the car snap in the rear; anti roll bar broke where it met the shocks. The car snapped tried to correct it and then tree lol. The accident left me blind for a few days and destroyed my vision and now have to wear glasses because of the airbag. Sold it for parts recouped 1k from it. Car was completely twisted after.

Then of all things my best friends mom smashed into my bike and was forced to sell it as a precaution to my well being.
So I decided I'm just going to stick with cars lol.
And after lots of losing money I bought a car that I really had no intention of ever buying because I dislike american cars, especially vettes, and i still do lol, I bought a 92 lt1 6 speed vette. Hey at least it's my favorite body style. I think these old vettes have good potential imo, relatively fast, easy to work on, simple, and fairly cheap. I'll be posting in the build about it.

    Currently looking like this

    Your car looks clean.

Um why would anyone **** corvette. Except maybe the guy at the track with his 300k ferrari getting walked by a 40k used z06 lol. I do admit the interior plastics in the c4 are horrible like barbie leg horrible.
If you could get yourself in a c5 z51 you'd appreciate the vettes more, if you're into racing that is. So what interior does your car have?

So do you **** all American cars or just some specific models?
II currently have cars from every market lol so I guess its hard for me to be biased.

nah, I'm not a ***** on American cars, cause I would most certainly buy american again because the price on domestics vs imports is just so tempting. I was actually looking at an 88 starion at the time when I was buying the vette, still would pick the vette but I really love that starion it's so damn cool. The thing about American cars is that they just lack a certain feel or charisma. The vette has charisma but it does feel very nasty, c6 4lt is pretty nice though.
Funny you say that about being in a z51 c5 because I have been, to me it lacked the certain spark that the c4 and 6 has. The 5 zo6 has that feel though, perhaps it's just to docile for my liking. My dad used to have a c6 zo6, felt like a lexus until you poked it a little, wonderful car, fit and finish was pretty bad though for being a brand new car but oh well nothing can touch it for the price.
The interior in my car has been pretty much redone except for the carpets and i wrapped most of the plastic parts in a soft supple vinyl so it feels a little nicer along with a new wheel and corbeaus. Still need to do the console section though.

      The old nasty seats
