If you could be 17 again....

Not my first car, but the car I started driving when I got my license at 17. This car was super cool and brought me to a lot of cool people and places. Got ripped away with me when the trans failed and I guess I'm still not over it. Great car, get one if you can, that's all I have to say wouldn't change it out for anything, just wish I got to go farther with it.

Technically this was my 1st car but I couldnt get it running so I don't really count it - 1980 Ford Pinto:

This was my 1st driveable car. I loved it and put 60K miles on it in the 2 yrs I had it. Wouldn't change a thing - 84 Honda Accord LX 5 spd

These are the same exact color/config as mine but not my pics BTW

        progress IS a slow process

Was just about to post on your build thread. This car was amazing and it sucks you have to get rid of it.... why not swap it with a 350 engine and trans?

I'm happy that my first car was a Chevy Beretta. Cheap car with no aftermarket support. It forced me to learn how to do real fabrication. I would like to be able to say that I would have rather had a Miata, but that was out of the $1000 budget. It went through a lot of phases, but here's the last one:

That was the plan while I had it, I wanted to do an LT1/460Le swap but at the time I had about 10 bucks to my name so I stripped it and bought my Explorer. I have my w124 now though and I'm trying to build it up just as good if not better, but honestly I don't get the same feeling the XJ6 gave me.

I had an 325e, and while I loved it and learned many driving lessons the hard way, I probably would force my kid into getting something fwd.

My prelude was my first car, I always wanted a black prelude, i searched for months looking for a clean low mileage 5spd, I finally found the right one and I'll never sell her!

I would probably stick with my first vehicle, 98 Jeep Wrangler 2.5 4 cyl. Once lifted it topped out at 67mph and took forever to get there. I think it saved me a lot of dumb driving decisions/tickets/accidents when I was young, and took me and my friends up a lot of cool mountains and trails.

I had an 85 Jeep CJ7. No better car to have at 17 IMO.

Topless, door-less, mud tires etc. No better way to spend the summers.

Complicated relationship to say the least, I had to have two cars as a first car, since the main one was a 92 Eagle Talon AWD. Learned to completely rebuild an engine, do clutches, turbo upgrades, fabricate exhaust etc. It was very quick at the time. But I really enjoyed driving my 87 Nissan Hardbody in its down time as well.

If I could do it all over, Id have gotten a Miata. Never autocrossed because my talon was too finicky and would more than likely puke its guts out.

I'd go with what I have now.
