This was my first car. It was pretty much the best first car possible. An absolute piece of shit with only 43k miles on it. Honestly I'd have this one over again.

I am 16, so I still have time for this. Unfortunately, I have already been through 2 cars though and am about to go onto a 3rd. The first was a '93 Mercury Sable that I loved. It was the ultimate old lady car. Maroon vinyl top maroon interior. I was going to stance it, but some jerk was texting and totaled it leaving me with $6k in damages and walked away without paying a cent. All they got was a flat tire. My second car was a 2000 Chevy Blazer LT. The only reason I had this was because my dad was getting a new truck, so he just gave me his old one. The trans recently blew out on it though (I knew it was going to happen from the moment he gave me it) I am now going to be going onto my 3rd car which is probably going to be a Chevy s10 pickup. If I could choose any car though, I would chose a Datsun 280zx, or an rx7. Both can be bought for less than $2k where I live which is crazy because the cheapest 240sx is $3k.

I had a complicated relationship with that car. I loved it because it was mine, but it was a base model with no air conditioner and no power steering, and it had a lovely habit of just shutting off while driving. The best part about it wasn't even the car, but the path it led me down, through the people I met in the early-2000s Nissan community, though jobs in the car industry, and eventually to where I'm at now.
Funny to think that what I really wanted was an EG Civic or a MKII GTi.
Hm. Honestly, I wouldn't change a single thing. If I could do it all over again, I'd start with the same car.
Was a good base for my first wrenching experiences but most of all I wouldn't change a single thing because of the path this car set for me and the people I would meet on the way.
Sometimes I still miss that thing. I occasionally have thoughts about building one for when the 10 years annyversary of our parting ways comes up haha (that would be in 2017/2018).
I got my first car, a Mini, when I was 14/15 maybe? And I spent years working on it, but never finished it. I would give anything to have finished it..or another Mini at least.
