  • MINI owner stopping in

    Hi all,

Just made my way over here from motoring|underground after drooling over a bunch of cars posted in our "House of Euro" thread over there. I thought this would be a great place to use as a resource in my pursuit of stance, so here I am!

I drive a 2003 MINI Cooper R50 (non-S) that I affectionately call "Trouble," currently lowered on Megan Racing coilovers and awaiting her new shoes (16x9 Keskin KT-1s). I'm a big fan of the "Low n' Slow" mentality (mostly since my car has no more than 120hp on a good day) and having a sweet stance is by far the most important thing in my eyes these days. I'm sure you're all familiar with Rally's R50 Cooper from several years ago, and that's been one of my biggest inspirations for where I'm going with this car. I've got big plans for the MINI in the next few years, but progress is slow given the fact that I'm a student right now so finances are... well, nonexistent.

Anyways, hope to be able to contribute positively to this place and learn some stuff in the process! Cheers guys!

Yup! After getting 3 of the 4 damaged by FedEx during shipping, replacements are on their way. Should be fitted by mid March.

Will the 9s fit up front?

I was thinking of getting some staggered Keskins but if you can run 9s all around then I may try that out.

                I <3 KT-1s on MINIs

Deffo. It took a lot of time and number crunching to figure it out, and of course only after I ordered the wheels did I see Mike's MINI! I'm trying hard to wait patiently, but damn is it hard! I'll need to run massive amounts of camber both front and back to get the proper fitment and stance, but I"ve already got the rear lower control arms and front camber plates so hopefully I'll be able to get that worked out relatively easily.

Thanks for all the welcomes guys!

I gotta get my control arms/camber plates so I can get my stance right.

Thanks mate! I'm in the process of trying to find a shop that will paint the centers white. I want them to be a bit different from the rest of the Keskin-wearing cars, so it's white centers and custom fitted MINI center caps (I hope). Then it's time for a serious exterior detail and I'll be stoked on the car again.

PS. I recommend SPC lower rear control arms. I've got the Megan coils and camber plates came with them so I don't have any advice there. Ask Mike?

Im running the IrelandEngineering race plates. They are NOISY but they allow an extra INCH of supension travel so its worth it to me.I daily drive my car as low as it is in that photo and I've never bottomed out my suspension. And they are cheap, strong, easily adjustable, and with some trimming of the towers they can get over 4 degrees of negative camber.

PS Im on stock rear control arms, slam the shyt and the camber will come

I am slammed and the rears dont have enough camber lol.

I havent heard great things about the IE adjustable plates but Im considering the fixed ones. I dont really need the camber up front for clearance, I just wanna loose the slight positive camber I have.
