  • Whats up fellas (and ladies)

Just introducing myself...my name is Matt, been into cars for as long as I can remember..

been working on them for over 10 years now, I started off in the honda scene, moved up to BMW, then to Porsches (did a lot of road race fabrication and engine building), then off to the Benz dealership. Some people wonder why I quit working on something I love (flat six turbos), but at some point I intend on opening my own shop for euro cars, so I want to be a little versed in all sorts of euros...

currently the lineup has been this:

-88 Honda Accord (only thing it had was 2000 Si wheels on it)
-89 Dodge Colt hatchback (stuffed with a 2.0L mitsu turbo engine)
    -85 Porsche 944
-85 Porsche 951 (blew the timing belt on the way home from picking it up...couldnt afford to fix it, sold it for cheap )
-92 S13 hatchback (got rear ended and totaled)
-91 S13 hatchback (LE white on grey leather)
-93 S13 coupe (sapphire blue, silvia conversion, the hard suspension ripped it apart)
    -2007 BMW 335i
    -1988 BMW 325is

    and currently, the 85 535i.

Things have come a long way, working on making this one a real headturner...like my previous BMWs, Porsches and one S13, they all have the distinction of being red...it seems to suit me well, and a lot of my friends think it goes well with me!

Rusty inspired me to go the distance with this one, and with all the poke and pull I can muster out of this car, something good is bound to happen

i think that should be enough to hold you over....

I just purchased the E28 from a member of the mye28.com and bimmerforums (who was very reluctant to sell it to anyone else other than someone who could provide a very good home for it) down in Orlando the first week of December, and roadtripped it back over the course of a week to Long Island.

I hadn't taken a vacation in forever, so with my girlfriend accompanying me, we scooted north into Perry GA, stopped to get gas and chat with a friendly guy named Mike, who happens to own 1 of only 4 known Alpina B9s in the states at this moment (If I ever had 30Gs to pick up an old school beaut such as this one, this would be it), and head up to Atlanta to stay at my aunts house for the night.

Following rainy morning, we moved north to the Marriott outside greenville, incidentally the same hotel BMW puts you in when you do your Performance Center Delivery of your new ride..I've stayed here plenty of times before when BMW sent me down here for training, so it was my first choice in the area. Its pretty cool to walk outside and see an M6 or an M3 sitting around, accompanied by a Telsa Roadster and an Exige.

We spent most of the rainy day at the BMW exhibit, and even took the tour of the factory for free (once they found out I used to work for BMW they let the two of us slide lol), and come thursday we were headin north again. Stopped in at Charlotte to say hi to some old friends and lunch, then we booked it through most of the afternoon into MD, just north of Washington DC by 9PM. Crashed at an old friend of mine who used to do dyno tuning in Philly (certified by AEM) was up almost the whole night tellin stories lol. Friday was on the home stretch, made it into NJ to have lunch with one of my friends (and moderator of E90post), and by that evening she was sitting comfortably in my driveway.

some 1362 miles logged, and the only mishap I had was a tire blow out in the rain leaving atlanta. Thank god for the original metric TRX spare in the car (due to the flat tire's size, it would not be until outside Charlotte would I be able to get a new one put on)

Yeah I know its kinda a long story, but Im pretty well open minded on here..just figured let you guys in on some of the fun thats been part of my life for the past few months

Mmmm...I can't WAIT to see where you take the E28. I, as well, was inspired by Rusty, before it was Rusty. Welcome to the site!
