Newbie. Odd vehicle warning.

Welp, JettaGolf ended up being a success...







But in my normal fashion, right about the time I got it running, and running reliably, and well, it was time for something different, which brings us to craigslist, where I managed to basically trade the car for a much more badass car (in my opinion) that needs a few things, and a fucking RAD bike, even if it is just a 350...








The car:
1990 Jetta Coupe Wolfsburg edition. Has a VR6 out of a 98 GLX jetta, along with the subframe, brakes, spindles, etc. 11.4" brakes up front. It needs timing chains and the front suspension rebuilt. No biggie though, parts are on the way. Oh and needs coilovers, being that it is slammed on some chopped springs. Planning on just making it a NICE daily, that will be fun to drive til winter time at which point I will buy a beater truck. So far all I have done is order parts, and throw some 25mm spacers on the rear to flush things up a bit (pics coming soon), as well as rolled the fenders/quarters. Found some old 944 phone dials, which i will hopefully be refinishing soon, wrapping with tires and rocking.

The bike; 72 Honda CB350, 16k miles, stretched 6 inches, lowered, drag style bars, blah blah, bobber whatever. It looks cool, and that's really all I care about. I'm no speed demon on 2 wheels.

As for the Probe, she is as lonely as ever. Working on her today though so I can have a daily while I fix the Jetta. Just needs the trans shoved on, and driven.




Just a little update that I'm kinda pumped about.

Welp did a little fitment testing this evening, since I had a little free time on my hands, and in the OEM+ style that I am kinda going for, I am using stock VW wheels (mk4 17" Monte Carlo wheels) painted gunmetal, and figured out tonight that my tire selection is going to be very limited, and that with some camber adjustments (taking about 3-4 degrees of negative camber out), the wheels will basically be flush with a 25mm spacer at least on the rear. As for the front, the suspension is so loose/fucked up it's not worth even measuring until it's done. And I believe the front subframe needs shifted.

So here's the test fit.





So then I decided that I wanted to do a sidepipe while I was at it, see what it looked/sounded like.



So of course, that led to this (albeit mockup pic is on pass side, sidepipe actually comes out the drivers side but whatevs)


And now the car has a sidepipe. Pics coming tomorrow, and maybe a video if someone has a phone that takes that shit. I'm still in the stone age.

I didn't build the bike, a local guy did it, i'm just adding to it/making it more rideable.

Quick plans for the bike:
Oldschool brake light.

Paint the rear fender to match the tank
Put the original cb350 side pieces in (hopefully)
Polish up the wheels and chrome pieces
Paint the frame matte black and powdercoat the bars matte black


Quick plans for the jetta coupe:
Those MK4 wheels with 185/40/17's
Coilovers
Timing chains, oil pump, rear main, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket
New mk3 cluster (4cyl one works but tach is WAY off)
All new front suspension, (control arm bushings, strut mounts, wheel bearings, tie rods, ball joints, blah blah)
Window welded motor mounts (while it's out anyhow)
Some bodywork/paint. (factory color or audi hibiscus red pearl although not the most flattering color, i kinda want it to be subtle


Quick plans for the probe;
Fix the fucked up wiring
Rebuild the harness, the way i want it. Not all boogered up by some tweeter who didn't know what the fuck he was doing.
Slam it some more, and fix/fit my circa 1991 Rays Sebring Zeiger 5's.

Originally pulled over for no tag (which is why I was driving it, to go in the morning to get an out of state inspection), well she said fuck that. Then was completely caught by surprise, when she found out I know a thing or two about the law, but still impounded the car. Wouldn't tell me where they were taking the car, and even though I offered to have my girlfriend bring the title to the car up (didnt have it in the car, doors dont lock) from my house, 5 minutes from there, and she said no, the tow truck is already on its way. So then I asked her, if it was possible to leave the car at that gas station ( I know the owner/all the managers), she refused that.

It was a pretty fucking rad time basically.

$175 later, she's fresh out of lockup, ready to wipe the dogshit up off the streets. Fixed a massive vacuum leak today,and got the car to really roll out.
