It's been a while and I've jussssst (I think...) found that perfect daily.

Of course, not without a few fun and interesting distractions!

Anyway, I know what you guys are thinking, "Less talk, Moar Pictars!".

    First I got this:

I know, right? I made it look really good in the the Craigslist pictures.
86 240 GL, Picked it up cheap out of somebody's front yard and drove it for 6 months without doing a lick of real work (aside from motor mounts, which were kinda a b*tch... but it was raining which makes it suck to work on just about anything.) and tires, because it had valve stems which tended to let go (quite violently) at speed and shred my sidewalls. Gave the nice blue cloth interior to my girlfriend and sold it for a bit of a profit. It was an auto with rust in the wrong places and a few too many electrical problems for my taste, but I'll still miss it...

    Next:

'83 Celica Supra. Another "Just for the hell of it" car.
Towed this out of some guys front yard for $200 with a bad fuel pump. The body was rotten enough to see through in multiple places but the drivetrain was amazing, despite the odometer reporting some 206K+. I got the old fuel pump running, pumped out the old gas (and rust) and had her running that day. I ended up stripping the interior, throwing on some free ricer coilovers and just having oodles of fun.
Sold it to a friend for cheap but still managed to double my money. Felt the need to prioritize a little... School, Life, Responsibilities, ect.

    So anyways:

Which is half taken apart because of this:

...and that's my "Perfect daily", a 1999 BMW 528i with, yes, as you've hopefully guessed by now, a 5 speed.

Black on black leather. A little rough around the edges but I'm getting it all sorted.

    Things to do:
Finish clutch (within the week, definitely.)
Front wheel bearings, probably rears soon
    Clean/replace headlight lenses, replace adjusters
Right rear window reg and door handle
Get the stereo working (I'm thinking bad amp)
    Fix exhaust manifold leak/maybe headers
    Start on body work
Front coilovers/spings and rear lowering links for air suspension
    Wheels of some kind

Ahh... So... Maybe I'm not exactly getting myself into a drive it and forget it daily, but this makes me happy so f*ckit.

To anyone wondering, the AW11 is still happening. It's staying with me forever, whether it ever gets finished or not.

The rolling shell is going up for sale soon along with some parts (I need the room).

That Mercedes, it had low compression on the #2 cylinder after all that BS. Oh well, now I know how to work on diesels.
