SD WAN Access Control

SD WAN protects traffic between locations by connecting them all with a secure tunnel that employs strong encryption to protect data between the data centers. This way, the connection to one site is secure from other data centers and internet traffic.
In the future, the WAN may also be used to provide access to the data centers without connecting to the network at all, thereby simplifying traffic between the data centers.
In addition to the standard WAN, this Cisco IOS release adds support for multiple WANs on the same switch, as illustrated in Figure 7.
Figure 7. Multiple WANs with WAN Access Control List on a Cisco IOS Switch Cisco IOS Software release 15.3(1)T includes the following new features and functions, and you can also learn more about WAN and SD WAN with resources from sites such as https://www.fortinet.com/products/sd-wan.

Access Control List (ACL) Support The access control list (ACL) feature enables an organization to define a set of user identities, and defines permissions for specific groups of users. You can use the new features and functions to: Design ACLs that can be used to enable and restrict the operations for specific groups of users.

Use the ACL feature in Cisco IOS Software to specify which groups of users are permitted to access the software and applications. Assign users a single IOS username. Assign user accounts to multiple groups of users.
