It was just an un-assuming little squareback, sitting in California waiting for a new owner to claim it. The beige wagon wore layers of paint over body panels that had seen a rough handful of decades, but its patina was endearing in a way. Fortunately for the old aircooled, the boys at Type 2 Detectives were back in the States and on the hunt for the perfect transportation during their stay here.

This past weekend marked the first StanceWorks meet of the year for the United Kingdom, held at the yard of Type 2 Detectives in beautiful Cambridgeshire. The event was held in conjunction with the Lowly Gentlemen and the launch of an authorised European dealer. Being typically British, the weather was slightly on the cold side but spells of sunshine gleamed through the cloudy skies from time to time.
In January, we hinted at something major in the works. With the Lowly Gentlemen’s utmost regard to quality and detail, as well as the valuing of enthusiasm and effort, it only makes sense for us to partner with likeminded people to grow the brand. We’re proud to announce that the Lowly Gentlemen officially has a UK Distributor, thanks to a partnership with the gentlemen of the Type 2 Detectives.
In 1948, Ferdinand Porsche crafted a vehicle that would change the automotive world forever. The Porsche 356, the grandfather of the 911 model, was Porsche’s first production vehicle. Today, there are less than 30,000 left, meaning they’ve amassed some serious value amongst collectors.
