Okay… enough waiting. Here’s the rest of the “good things”: more top-tier photography of the 77th Goodwood Members’ Meeting, courtesy of the talented Peter Aylward. Be sure to follow him on Instagram at @peteraylward and check out his website: www.peteraylward.co.uk.
“Good things come to those who wait,” or so they say at least. It piggy-backs on the sentiment of “patience is a virtue,” and while both seem nonsensical when in the throes of restlessness, it does ring true on at least some occasions. Peter Aylward returns once again, this time with imagery from the 77th Goodwood Members’ Meeting, an event hosted exclusively for members of the Goodwood Road Racing Club and its fellowship.
Peter Aylward returns once again, this time with imagery from the 2018 Goodwood Revival, an event hosted exclusively racing machines from the ’40s, ’50s, and ’60s, complete with attire and festivities to match. The event exists to revive the sights, sounds, and sensations of a time in motor racing that once was.
For years, we’ve longed to join in on the absolutely incredible Goodwood Members’ Meeting. As is tradition, however, we’ve missed it once again, instead forcing ourselves to enjoy from afar. Luckily for us, though, Peter Aylward has put together an incredible collection of photos. The collection is so large, in fact, that we’ve been forced to split up the 101 photos into two individual sets. Today, we invite you to take in Part I.
Writing about these sorts of events is never easy. Trying to put into words what something like this is all about is not a simple task (which is probably why it has taken me months to get this out). The photographs give you a feeling and a mood, and maybe a few highlights, but the truth is, you have to be there. It’s an event that must be witnessed first-hand, and that’s what drove me back to the Goodwood Members Meeting again this year.
