2012 marks the 8th year for the Japanese Classic Car Show (JCCS), known throughout the country as the end-all for those in love with nostalgic and retro “JDM” cars. We made the trip out to the Queen Mary show grounds and captured some of our favorites from the show. As my first time attending, I can certainly say this isn’t one to miss from here on out.

The Daily Driver. There’s a certain dedication required when you enter into the commitment of daily driving the same car that accompanies you to every show through the season. The pot holes and speed bumps make your oil pan and suspension bushings cringe on your way to work. The rock chips and bug splatters threaten the glossy exterior as your car clocks away countless highway miles on a road to somewhere new.

They say never to meet your heroes.  They might not live up to your lofty expectations, they might not be the mythical entity you always thought them to be, and they might just let you down.  With that thought creeping around in the back of my head, I was trying not to get too worked up about the argyle-clad monster that was suddenly in my path.

There is a myriad of car-related Facebook pages, ranging in quality and content styles from the craziest bosozoku cars from the streets of Japan, to the classic Concours beauties from Pebble Beach. Facebook has become a constant stream of media for an impressively large number of people.

Japanese Classic Car Show

Andrew and I attended this years Japanese Classic Car Show in Long Beach several weeks back, but we never got our coverage up due to a litany of projects going on at the time. I will say it was a great event that certainly brought out some rare birds. Apparently, a lot of these cars stay behind closed garages most of the year so this show is a particular treat for the SoCal enthusiasts.
