We’ve got lots of goodies in this episode: dry sump parts, cooling system parts, an alternator solution, and more. With the engine and transmission mounted into the car, the focus is solely on getting the rest of the puzzle put together, solving the unknowns, and getting to the finish line.
Well, the title says it all. Santa (Real name Garrett) came early this year. The boys over at Garrett Motion have sent over a PAIR of turbos for the build: one for use on track, and one for some serious fun wherever 1000WHP is actually useful. I’m eager to get the next steps going on the car, such as designing a turbo manifold and building it. This is going to be fun.
Who needs an interior, anyway?! Today, I’m ripping the guts out of the Ferrari 308 GTBi, beginning with the gorgeous factory seats. I’ve bought a set of Bride Zeta IIs from Japan for the build, and have decided an F40-esque interior is more my pace. Out comes the carpet and the sound deadening… it’s all just unnecessary weight. Soon, we’ll begin the quest to find the “right” replacement carpet, and decide just how much of the interior should go back in.
Plenty of you guessed it, and many more missed the mark… Love it or hate it, I’m stuffing a Honda K24 along with a turbocharger into the back of the Ferrari 308 GTBi. From its light weight and its low cost, to its huge power potential and its massive aftermarket, it only makes sense… not to mention, it’s going to be a riot based on reactions alone.
