Fitting an E30 with H&R’s Complete Coilover System
Mike BurroughsFor every classic BMW fan, there are a few universal truths. For one, there’s no car quite like one with a Roundel… although that may be a bit subjective. Another, a bit more inarguable, is the limited suspension options available for these classic cars. While a McPherson strut assembly is tried and true – and still used on BMWs to this very day – the classics are at a bit of a disadvantage.
It was more than two years ago that my relationship with the team at H&R began. Ever since, it has grown more and more clear that beyond producing world class suspension components, H&R is a brand owned, operated, and driven by automotive enthusiasts. Their passion for cars and the driving experience is usurped only by their drive to produce springs and shocks of the highest caliber and quality, not only in their homeland of Germany, but in the world.
For two weeks, the city of Essen, Germany becomes the focus of the automotive world. More than 350,000 people gather to attend the Essen Motor Show, which trails only behind SEMA as the second largest auto show in the world. Focused specifically on the aftermarket, it is inarguably the premiere event for tuners in all of Europe.
