The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance always presents opportunities to capture unique cars. Year after year, we walk away with photo sets of the cars that intrigue us most. Sometimes it’s the oddity of the car itself, and at other times, its the nuances, details, and even occasionally patina that separates one car from a field of legends that each deserve a chance in front of the lens. For 2016’s event, this particular Ford GT40 MKIII captured my attention.

Last Saturday evening I had the opportunity to shoot one of the first Production GT’s for the guys over at FORDGTFORUM.com (VIN #10 to be exact). I have been anxious to get back behind the lens again and with some unseasonably warm weather for February I hoped over to their warehouse and did my thing. We used a Brand new Ford F150 Raptor for a ladder (as you do) and got to work.

Join the team as they disassemble the legendary car in a meticulous manner. Their goal, to restore the car using the original parts that crossed the finish line in 1966, comes with a number of hurdles.
