BMW Team RLL secured a first-place finish in Long Beach, moving them up in the ranks as the 2015 Tudor United Sports Car Championship season continues. The race at Laguna Seca is just days away, and we’re anxiously waiting to see if the Z4 GTEs can pull off yet another win. In the mean time, here’s an all-new desktop wallpaper of the Z4s in their gorgeous new liveries as they circle the tarmac in Southern California.
Along side Detroit Belle Isle, the Long Beach Street Circuit is the shortest race of the United Sports Car Championship season; an all-out sprint between narrowing corridors of fencing and blockades. With just 100 minutes of racing allotted, the competition is fierce and fleet-footed, tailored to deft driving and quick thinking, putting drivers at odds with the many skills needed to win the prior races.
“This is our track.” It’s the unanimous feeling amongst the team as the final hours before the race come to a close. The Long Beach Grand Prix, and Tudor’s attached Sports Car Showcase at Long Beach, have fallen in our own back yard – it’s StanceWorks’ home turf, and for us, “this is our track” takes on a whole new meaning. However, for Team RLL, Long Beach serves as a stomping ground for a team wrought with experience for the narrow streets and concrete barricades.
As the sun slowly rose above the eastern horizon, peeking through the streets and alleyways of Long Beach, the sky began to turn a purplish-blue. A soft ambient light draped the paddock, accentuated by the bright red highlights of illuminated tail lamps. A crew of men dressed in blue and white pushed a pair of white purebred race cars out from the upper level of the transporters and slowly lowered them to the ground.
