It’s Thursday, which universally signals the end of the week: we’re almost there, and we’re almost done. If you’re stateside, there’s a decent change you’re prepping for departure in anticipation of this weekend’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion: one of, if not the biggest vintage motorsports events in the country each year.
I hate to sound formulaic. After all, I firmly believe in celebrating automotive creativity and diversity, and I try to embrace that ideology in every build of my own as I travel across the automotive spectrum with each successive build. With that said, there’s no denying what works: The Combo.
It’s not StanceWorks’s first CSL, and its sure not to be the last. In fact, this will be our 9th featured example, a milestone in and of itself, with only 491 left to go if we want to conquer them all. Captured by our talented friend and photographer Mike Crawat, this particular example comes from Europe, and more specifically, Belgium. Parked along side its BMW brethren earlier this summer at an event, it stole the show as an iconic elder.
Over the past decade or more, we’ve amassed a lot of photos, and with that a lot of photo sets. Andrew and I have shot a little bit of what feels like “everything under the sun,” but only on occasion do we turn the cameras towards creations of our own. Today, while perusing the StanceWorks archives, I encountered the final photoshoot of the StanceWorks E9.
We’re excited to look back on a few weeks ago: the 2017 SoCal Vintage BMW show, in Van Nuys, California. Our friend Alex Rodriguez attended with an incredible Super 8 film camera in hand. Upon seeing the results of his on-film efforts, we knew we had to share. So, kick back and enjoy a few minutes of modern yet classic film footage. As they say, they don’t make ’em like they used to… and we think that goes for cars -and- cameras.
