What you see in these photos is the culmination of dedication and drive: most people buy project cars to build slowly over time, to one day create a vision of what they have, while others keep changing the goal posts and start builds with the end result always changing. Some projects, though, happen to start off as an opportunity, and that exactly how this one started for Neil many years ago.

It was five years ago today that I funneled my thoughts through my keyboard and onto the StanceWorks homepage. In coming across this old gem today, I was reminded how little has changes, but how much we have grown. We set out on a mission to move the car community in a direction we saw as positive and reinforcing, and I like to think we’d made some serious strides. Event posters are where art and automobiles have come together for decades, so when I began discussing potential collaboration projects with Formula Drift, my mind instantly jumped to the prints that so often proceeded races. Despite the style that runs rampant through the drifting culture, it’s rare to find art that echoes the dynamic atmosphere of the events.

Gatebil: arguably one of the craziest weekends in the automotive world. 4 weeks ago, they held an event in Sweden at Mantorp Park. It was unlike anything I had ever seen. Roughly 20,000 people showed up and there must have been at least 1,000 participants. Something I feel as though could never happen in the US.

Gatebil doesn’t just focus on one area of motorsport either. Drifters, time attack racers, and people who just want some track time are all welcome.

Round One of Formula Drift has concluded, but the scent of rubber lingers. The streets of Long Beach, California are scarred and tattered, ripped to shreds by the screaming tires of today’s top 16, and the smoke was never given a chance to dissipate as today’s drivers battled it out for the first podium of the series. Cars smashed and bashed their way through the afternoon, and the podium was met with both familiar and new faces.
