First Photoshoot

I'm just starting to use my camera and took some photos the other day of my GTI and my friends S14, and i just wanted to get a little critiquing and criticism. Thanks

pics are a little too dull. what camera are u using?

3 is on point

The crops are pretty tight in a lot of the shots, to the point of actually cutting off part of the subject (2, 5, 6). And speaking of the subject, it's difficult to tell what it is in some shots (1, 4 and 8)

I'm using a Rebel XS and touching up with Photoshop. I didn't crop any of these which would make 4 look better, the others were the best i could get at the location.
