Thanks, iv'e been interested by street photography , but feel kinda weird / intrusive putting the camera on random people in the street. guess i'll stick to cars for now...
Street shooting is definitely out of my comfort zone, but the more I do it the easier it gets. My problem is that I only have two lenses right now. The Canon 50 1.8 (plastic fantastic) and a 35mm f2. The 35 is GREAT, but it's pretty damn wide shooting FF. The 50 is a much, much better focal length for the street, but my copy is garbage. The AF is much too unreliable so I stick to my 35.
Closer is always better, but it can be awkward as fuuuu.
I'm pretty sure this dude had no idea he was in the frame.
Totally got busted here, so I just start talking about how much I liked his hat.
If I've learned anything it's that an OK photo would be better.....IF I WERE CLOSER!
I'm planning on picking up a 50mm 1.4 and an 85 1.8, but in the mean time I have to try to get close without getting punched in the face, lol. I have run into a couple of unhappy people, but I just smile and keep walking.
