The weather didn't permit much testing but I did get one shot between showers. I've never worked with L series glass before so it's a massive step up in image quality. ^^ Like you said, really sharp.

yeah the quality on the L lenses is amazing!

It was like $640.
Probably the most affordable L glass there is.

I paid $480 for mine, but it used on craigslist, but the guy I bough it from was pretty meticulous with it and really take care of his gear. I really want the F/2.8 now! the f/4 kind of sucks in low light. Good thing is I should be able to get all my money back once I do go and buy the f/2.8, L lenses dont really go down in value!
