what do you shoot with your 50mm lense

had my nikon d80 stolen about 2 months ago..they took everything besides my 50mm that was in a weird place.

was wondering do any of you guys shoot cars with this kind of lense need some inspiration till i can afford a zoom lense.

For static car shots I often use old manual focus primes, often in 50mm or similar focal ranges.

managed to get me a nikon d80 body for cheap .. from what i know its a af 50mm nikkor 1.8

if that makes sense

I liked my 50mm when I had it. I upgraded to the 35mm 1.8 since it's a better focal length (for me) on a cropped body.

nice shots^ .. i guess because i have no zoom type lense .

I have to stand quite far back with this lense right to get the whole car in im meaning ? is that still ok for some sharpness etc?

The 50mm is one of the best/most efficient lens for both Nikon and Canon. If you know what you're doing, you should have absolutely no problem with it.

50mm prime is honestly my most used lens for shoots. At shows I use a moderate wide zoom, but really 50mm's are great lenses and have so much use in automotive photography.

never use mine. the canon 1.8 is crappy unless you're on top of the subject. mine refuses to get anything in focus. frustrates the hell out of me.
