  • How did you learn?

Just wondering where you guys learned how to take such amazing photo's? I know your going to say practice, but what else did you do? Read any books, online, or forums? what about the editing?

Just looking for help, I know this wont only help me but thanks in advance..

Seriously I just messed around with different settings, and went on some forums, learned what each thing is called and what it does, and just went out and messed around with it seeing what I could come out with.

In terms of editing, I seriously just messed around in photoshop, with the adjustment functions, and in Camera Raw. I suggest playing with curves, levels, etc. Really it can completely change your pictures.

In my view once you have a good grasp of what everything does, just keep messing around until you find your desired outcome.

I learned with a P&S camera the basics of framing and composition. I got my first DSLR and just shot with the priority modes at first (shutter and aperture priority). I then learned how everything works together as a whole (every setting from shutter/exposure, aperture, ISO, focal points, etc) after shooting those modes and after a while, you'll ease into shooting full manual.
