  • Some of my automotive work, feedback appreciated!

Hello there SW community, my name is Claudio and I've recently started browsing the SW blog on the regular. As a blogger myself, I was stunned by the level of quality available here. The photos have an artistic appeal to them and convey the emotions/feel which IMO is a key element to photography. Along with good writing and story telling without the hype, SW has certainly caught me off guard. The name itself always kept me away, as the stance "scene" to me is something I want nothing to do with but with functional cars suiting my style, aggressive fitment is of course part of the territory which I enjoy. Some of the cars featured here may be stanced but the fact that they are done with gusto allows me to appreciate the foreign style, even if its not for me.

I've started shooting occasionally since July 2013 to cover my car club's activity so I'm still new to this but I wanted to get some feedback if possible. The photos below are the cream of the crop so maybe not the most representative but they are what I aim for! I tried to post a variety of everything that is automotive as I have also done some people oriented work. You can always check out my flickr and blog to get a bigger idea because there are a lot more than this obviously, if you can/want. I hope I'm not spamming here, but I didn't see a rule thread on this subforum.

My equipment btw is a Nikon D80 crop body camera + 50mm f/1.8.

    Below I used a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens.

Below a Canon XTi I believe? A friends camera I had never used with a zoom lens, 18-55mm I want to say.

Below I used a Nikon D700 + 24-70mm f/2.8, it was my first time "shooting" seriously. Before that time it was just regular taking pics like normal people haha.

I shot this set with my d80 body..using a crappy camera makes you a better photographer I think.

Thanks, the first shot was after my motor blew on the track and I was tearing it apart and assessing the damage. The Porsche was a nice ride, the owner helps run a restoration shop. Here's an extra.

Nice, looks good. The D80 with the 50mm really does force you to be creative. It's a lot of zoom but works well outdoor with lots of space.
