What's a good point and shoot camera or knock off GoPro? - less than $100

I am hoping to get my boyfriend some type of camera for xmas, and it will mainly be for his car. His and all his friends cars are slammed so I know he would have fun with a GoPro (but I cannot afford that..) so a good knock off brand or a good point and shoot camera (are there any that can double for both? Not my thing, but would love to take advantage of Cyber Monday.

you can find a gopro hero hd (the original gopro) for just over $100 it still shoots in 1080p so it has good quality.
check ebay or amazon.
I have the gopro hero hd and the gopro hero 3+ silver and I use both all the time and get decent quality photos.
