  • Testing the lighting kit.

    Bought a lighting kit recently.

    Got bored tonight and decided to test it out.

    I am by no means a professional, so tips are welcome!

    I would say the lighting is too flat.

    You can see that in your set up shot. They are just flat on to the car which will cause flat shadows and generally uninteresting reflections. You can also see you are casting too much light to your background. Control the light a little more to show off your subject more rather than your subject+background.

    Keep going though man, you'll get there!

      IMHO... Just ditch the umbrellas. Those work great for portraits, but for automotive photography you want to use reflectors. Practice lighting just the car, and not the entire foreground. Makes for much more dramatic work. You're on the right track though... Keep rollin...
