  • A little help: What photo database do you use?

Hey guys, I'm new to photography and I am looking into a database where I can upload all of my photos online. (Making it easier to upload to forums, etc.) I have a Flickr and a 500px but both are free accounts and I am limited either monthly or weekly for upload space.

Each have their own perks and some ups and downs but what I am really looking at is the best bang for your buck type of deal. With Flickr I like how you can determine which size you want to use but with 500px you can have your own store and some other useful options.

If anyone uses either of them let me know which you guys like the most please, any other databases used are welcome too. Thanks.

I've used Flickr exclusively for the past 5 years, it's worth the $25 a year to me.

2-0 Flickr. Seems reliable and that you both like it. I mean $5 is not a big deal when it comes to money per year which is the difference between the two websites. Thanks for the opinions guys.

Flickr is definitely worth the $25 a year like Travis C said. Also used it for the past 5 or 6 years.

I'm another flickr user, going into my 3rd paid year now. Although I hear 500px is better for image quality and possibility for portfolio sites which may be handy?

Thanks, I appreciate the input, definitely a fair price and a lot of people have been using it for years too which is a good sign.

I think each has their ups and downs, Flickr is a massive database and I like the sharing ways that they use, which I believe is better than 500px. But I also like the voting, etc. on 500px, plus all pictures are secured there too meaning people cannot right click and save them. You can also set up a store on 500px which is different.

You can disable sharing on Flickr of the right click shit I think. I know only my contacts have access to full res.
