Hi guys, My names Dave. This is my first time posting in this section so Ill introduce myself. I love cars and photography which of course goes together like PB&J. I got started about 2 years ago just shooting random stuff and some car shows, Since then Ive got a new job and that allows me to get out to alot more events though out the year. I don't really have a "style" that I like to shoot or what I shoot for that matter. Anything I find cool is good enough for me and Im always interested to try out new ways of capturing that perfect shot or different editing techniques. To say Stanceworks has been an inspiration would be an understatement, between the blog and the forum it has always made me want to keep improving my skills
But anyways...enough about me and onto the photos

I plan on doing alot more shooting this coming year as I plan on making a new purchase which brings me to my next question.
Im getting tired of my current camera, Its a Sony A100 DSLR.....its ok but the metering on it blows, my pictures either end up under or overexposed. The auto focus isn't very fast and the lack of a focus beam makes taking pictures at night quite a chore..... even with a tripod, and speaking about night forget about anything over ISO 100 otherwise it ends up grainy. And the overall quality of the final pics are so so and just aren't that sharp, The 35mm lens I bought is a lot better than the kit lens but the camera still lacks. And in the end I think my skills have passed the ability of the camera, now I know I can spend a lot on some lens and other stuff and maybe get some more out of it but the camera still lacks feature wise.
So my plan is to make a really big jump and invest in a Canon EOS 60D with the 18-135mm F3.5 lens. I like it alot, used it a few times and read some reviews and everything seems to be really positive about it. The camera has what I am looking for and HD video which I really like. Is this a good choice? I also plan on getting a Canon EF-S 50mm f1.8 lens with it when I purchase since this seems to be a popular lens and the F1.8 aperture will give me some nice DoF with my photos.
Thanks for looking guys and help/advice you can give is much appreciated
