Hi guys words taken from the Togethia Blog -
--------
JDM all stars brought their octane fuelled drift series to Birmingham for round 5 this weekend. We sent along a couple of guys to cover the event for our partners Jap Performance Parts and Italian driver Filippo Pirini.
The morning started early or late depending on how you look at it for Walton Smith and our camera man, they didn't finish mapping the new engine in the Subaru until 7AM...with very little sleep it was going to get interesting. Also a special mention has to go to our foreign counterpart Filippo for travelling a whopping 1,800 km's to take part!
Being a local guy it would have seemed rude if Mr Phil Morrison of Driftworks hand't made an appearance in his S15 (S standing for 'smoke')

The new engine installed and looking ready to rock and roll. Rumour has it was Dyno'd and pushing out a whopping 509BHP at the wheels.
Filippo's MX5 sat in the paddock waiting for first practice
Walton's Subaru having some Contour HD's attached to capture the on track action
Phil Morrison in first practice laying down some rubber
Walton with pretty much the same idea. The new engine working very well.
Filippo getting used to the modified speed way track on his 1st practice run
Unfortunately the circuit would claim some front bumpers for the day was out
Garage D's freshly built Bee-R R324 put on an impressive practice run
The rubber build up on Phil Morrison's car was quite impressive
Unfortunately his bumper also bit the dust at the end of his first practice run
Another arty shot of the smoke machine that is the driftworks S15

Honey I shrunk James Dean!
The JPP Subaru was attracting a lot of attention from the local crowd, the Skyline engine not producing the noise you would usually associate with a Subaru!
Some last minute bumper repairs in preparation for the evening event
Sajid of JPP discussing various issues with the mechanics before Walton and Phil's run in the final's
Filippo's lucky mascot obviously helping him qualify for the final rounds
Project-6 is a charity based scheme run by Steve Evans with the aim of helping Autistic and Disabled adults become familiar with motor-sports.
Walton and Phil pose for a photo as the drivers line up before the last rounds of drifting for the day
Interior shot showing some bizarre effects
Brad McQueen and Christy Carpenter showing the crowd what JDM all stars is all about

The evening sunlight bursting through the trees and smoke surrounding the circuit was creating some very photogenic scenes
It also aloud us to get a rare glimpse inside the cockpits of the drift machines the drivers were trying so hard to keep on the black stuff
The undulations at the cross over clipping point causing some cars to cock the front wheel - Brad McQueen showing us how its done
The shear concentration on Walton's face evident of the work involved
Unfortunately Walton would lose out to the shear grip and power of the S15, some might say he was saving the car and engine for Rotterdam in a week
Media guys in for the long run
James Dean would go onto win Round 5 increasing his championship lead ever more
