So I've never really done this before...

Today I actually tried to photograph people and food. Both things I have never really tried seriously. These were with my family while he had lunch/dinner at a Crabhouse in Brooklyn, NY.

Excellent work with the colors, I can never seem to get colors to be "perfect" like these.

My only criticism would be that in #4, that plate of liquid in the bottom right corner is a little distracting, but I'm not sure whether moving it would've made the picture better.

They look great man, love the bokeh you've managed to achieve in the portraits. Depth of field looks good in the first ones, but agree on the comment about the bowl of liquid in 4, if you'd focussed back like 2 inch I doubt you'd notice it.

Definitely keep doing it. Got a good eye for the shots.

Thanks guys, I really hadn't thought much about the plate of olive oil when I took the photo, but when I came home and was editing, I noticed and was pretty pissed with myself about that.

Definitely will keep the advice in mind.

You need more depth of field in the second shot. I feel like I want to see the hand more in focus, even if you just bump up from 1.4 to 2.0, I think it would add a bit more to the shot.

But then it wouldn't be nearly as similar as the first one. Fuck. I don't know, I kinda fell into the photography aspect of this job.
