Also why does the 60d feel like a downgrade to you? I have heard this, but no explanation as to why..
I would most certainly recommend the 7D. I checked out the 60d and then the 7D and I have to say the 7D blew away the 60d. The 7d is a lot more rugged and could withstand a drop to the ground. the cons with the 7d are that it is basically a beefed up t2i and its price tag is TWICE what the t2i costs.

I am starting graphic design study in the new year and i need to buy some decent camera gear.
I dont have a lot of experiance with camera's, any ideas what would be good to start off with ie: something that will help me to take decent pics which will help me mith my study

thanks l3xxd i will check those out
i have a few good compacts but dont give me the ability to adjust for different lighting and such
so looking for a good user friendly SLR which i can properly edit on CS5
