I got a EOS XS for Christmas, used to goof around with this a little, in combination with my constant obsession with stop motion. But....ya...how the hell did you do this? You shine the light on the object rather then at the lens? It looks so diffused.

you need a lens with a low f stop tho.. i tried it with my 15-85mm kit lens, (3.8f) which didnt work so well. You need like 2.8f or so..

Any light form can be used, but it needs to be dispersed somehow otherwise you will see sharp reflections of the light source.
We used a torch and a cotton singlet over it to 'soften' the 'harshness' of the light.Originally posted by anthLucky they didn't come into your house and disrespect your whole family.
