  • Camera Calibration

    Hey guys,

I've had a Rebel XTi for a number of years now, and it's behaved quite well. More often than not recently I've noticed it's just not as crisp and sharp as it used to be.

Now I've seen posts about members calibrating their cameras. Other than sending it to Canon, and it costing hundreds of dollars, how much generally does it cost to get an SLR calibrated locally? And what does it really entail? Is it separate calibration for body and lens', or do they calibrate them together under the same price?

Also, if any of you have any "I live by this" tutorial sites as to developing editing styles and techniques, I would love to read them. I've been using Photoshop Lightroom 2 forever.

    Thanks

Are you having problems with all your lenses or do you think its the camera body in general?

Its most likely the glass you're using.

Pretty confident it's the same lack of luster with both lens. More so curious what everyone is talking about when they state 'calibrated/non-calibrated'. What is considered a calibration on an SLR?

Also, the super thin film that the focus points illuminate on is extremely dirty. Attempting to lift the dust off it ends up making it worse.
