Looking to upgrade

Hey guys,

I'm looking to upgrade to my first DSLR camera (shooting with a bridge camera for almost a year). I've been mainly looking at the Canon 450D and the Canon 550D. They both seem to have good reviews and ratings.

Can anyone give an opinion? or advice?

well 450d is the first camera with live view function from canon, so it's not as good as the newborn 550d, also filming quallity with 550d is allmost the same like with a 7d, and 450d is allready an old model, so imo if you have enough money you should try the 550d

if u want a low budget canon, go for an xsi or t1i or t2i .. ( the xt , xti and xs are old )

anyone got any info/reviews on a nikon d5000?
or any other nikons that are good cameras?
im looking to get my own camera, have been shooting my dads d80, so an upgrade from that would be awesome
