He should have said the first to perfect it

    Honda > Alfa technology.

Did I mention the nsx can double as a submarine?

To me, the 8 series is a beautiful car. I really like the way the NSX looks too, but it's different. The 8 to me oozes class, while the NSX looks like it's all business and technical. 8 series breaks my neck on the street, NSX doesn't.
          Wut?

              According to ze internetz alzo

"The next step was taken in 1989 by Honda with the VTEC system. Honda had started production of a system that gives an engine the ability to operate on two completely different cam profiles, eliminating a major compromise in engine design. One profile designed to operate the valves at low engine speeds provides good road manners, low fuel consumption and low emissions output. The second is a high lift, long duration profile and comes into operation at high engine speeds to provide an increase in power output. The VTEC system was also further developed to provide other functions in engines designed primarily for low fuel consumption. The first VTEC engine Honda produced was the B16A which was installed in the Integra, CRX, and Civic hatchback available in Japan and Europe. In 1991 the Acura NSX powered by the C30A became the first VTEC equipped vehicle available in the US. VTEC can be considered the first "cam switching" system and is also one of only a few currently in production."

i think, even in honda, the 89 crx sir was the first to have vtec with the b16a in the japanese market.

and lol at everyone ignoring subjectivity... even i'd call the 8 a "better" car. I just think the NSX looks entirely better.

First vtec came out in the DA integras in Japland. pretty sure they had them in 88...

Either way, You dont hear about any other manufacturers perfecting the variable valve timing technology.....

Honda is in a class of its own, Anyone who has driven either a DC2 Integra Type R or an NSX knows exactly what Im talking about.

First in US was NSX. And I'm almost positive they were first to do variable lift.

                      • At the end of the day, its one opinion against the other.

comparing a luxury car look (8 series) with an exotic look (nsx) makes no sense imho.

                        • Based purely on looks, NSX gets my vote for sure. They still stand out even today.

                            • I go with the 8er because I own a 1994 840i that is about to get stanced!!

                              • NSX for me, being mid-engined the body has a great balance. If BMW hadnt tried to incorporate the kidney grilles it might have been a winner.
