For the hip hop fans

Just wanted to throw this out there for anyone on here into hip hop or the like. This is one of my best friends, Austin's, first mixtape. Called Destination Unknown and goes hard for sure. Definitely keep an eye on this kid, his lyrics are intense. But post up what you think as feedback is pretty important at this point. Everything was recorded in a home studio which some friends and I built and was mixed at Patchwork Studios in Atlanta.

Ok so after 3 tracks I can safely say that this guy is clearly trying to cater to the new mainstream style of rap. I think he is trying to hard, his lyrics feel forced, like he is trying to be someone that he's not. Sounds a lot like Drake to me. I don't think he is real enough either. I feel like he thinks that he is one of the best in the game, yet this is his first time trying to it down with the big names.


I don't like it. Way to mainstream for me, not real enough, and he thinks he is a lot better than some of the best out there. I wouldn't call his music hip hop, I would call it rap, and yes there is a difference. Hip Hop has a much different feel to it, and is IMO much more real. And the lyrics actually mean something.
