Old school Hip Hop is really where it's at.

          Tribe Called Quest
          De La Soul
          Pete Rock & CL Smooth
          Fu-Schnickens

Just to name a few. If i had to name some good shit from present times I'd have to go with

          Aesop Rock
          Atmosphere
Asimov aka The Alias Bros. aka The AB's
The Sound Providers (Pretty much anyone who raps over their beats.)
          Brother Ali
          Blueprint
          Murs
          Eyedea & Abilities

Come to think of it, there is a good amount of good shit out today. lol

Thats the good thing about real Hip Hop. You have people from both sides of the states and even in the middle that have that sound. Not like Rap where its easy to tell the west from the east and the south which just sucks anyway.

I have to say the same about Eminem from any year ( I always ***** him even when he was a skinny nerd ) and IMO anything after Nas Is Like is when he fell off.

Thirsten Howell is a good one. A lot like Jedi mind.
yeah i feel you. i just cant get over how creative they are. bringing harmony in with rap is intense at times. i love that. you need to listen to faces of death though. fucking pretty nuts! the plots, story lines, lyrics, are pretty dark, though insane. and E1999 will always be one of my favorite cd's ever

plus anyone that can do what krayzie does at 1:40ish deserves respect.

Yesss definitely one of the best. The greatest hip hop song of all time to me is 93 til' infinity by the souls of mischief. but you guys have some legit lists!

I gotta put The Grouch as my favorite, but I think Talib Kweli is probably who I think I would call the best, but that's an opinion thing. I can tell you I don't even have the radio hooked up in my car, it's all mp3 player, the radio makes me embarrassed, it doesn't exactly inspire creativity and thought anymore.

Fuck that I knew Cudi when he worked at the Bape store in NYC. I bought some tees and crews from him a few years back. Cool cat.

Anyways, as far as hip-hop goes:

                  MF DOOM
                  Beastie Boys
                  Scha Dara Parr
That one Waka Flocka song cause it makes me lol hard. I love driving through white neighborhoods BLARING that shit.

I'm currently jamming lots of New Jack Swing and R&B tho. Bobby Brown and The Deele and shit.

Yeah, IDK. Some of the songs on that album have that old school/ early 90's vibe but a lot still sound like it could be off of the Boys In The Hood sdk. I never liked the micro machine man kinda flow either but I guess thats personal preference. I just really **** Bone Thugs. Its probably, out of all the types of music I dislike of any genre, what I **** the most
