Only analogy i can think of is its like they are the alien ware of auto parts. Your paying for quality AND the name.
Dinan is for people who want to mod their car but are scared of loosing the warranty. Its mild tuning so that bmw will still service them and warranty them. That's what your paying the premium for. It's just not for me, and it doesn't excite me in any way shape or form.

i havent read this whole thread, but you strike me as being very young.

just shy of 21 years old.

Ive seen the dyno charts from Dinan rite next to other top after market parts.....Dinan won. Its just performance without loosing the essence of the car.

Besides, im ganna be paying 1/3 of the retail price.

I dont understand why everyone thinks they are stupid expensive, i mean there stage 4 suspension kit is just over 2gs, when you could spend that same amount on just a coilover set, and not have any better performance.

/shrug, to each there own. Ive loved there shit for a long time, well before i got the job there. Just being around all there crazy ass V10 race engines makes me love them even more.

Im down with Dinan, but they're not the best out there IMO. I mean they're good, but nothing I seen from them made me believe they're better then the rest. Like Seandub said, if people wanted the best parts and didn't care about earning points they wouldn't be as big as they are. Hell If I wanted a Dinan badge, I could pick up a replica one on ebay for like $5 easy. 2k for stage 4 suspension isnt bad tho. It may not be the best out there, but your getting a decent amount of parts. Try buying all those parts separate and you will be way over 2k.

Not really know. I mean i dont **** them, i reserve that for 90s 3 series. Again, no disrespect to anyone who drives them....just my personal taste.

People buy Dinan just to say they bought Dinan.

No offense to you of course.

So you want a 2000 M5 but don't like 90s 5 series, even though the M5 you want is an E39 which came out in the late 90s... Does not compute.

I agree with most of you about Dinan parts. Definitely nice stuff but far from the best, ideal for a lot of people since BMW will service and warranty their parts

I dont think i would get a 2000 M5, thats what i would get if i was in a rush. My goal is for a 2006. Buuuuuuut chances ill get ansy and not wanna save the extra 5-7 grand.

Its not like i **** those cars. Its just not my favorite. Thats all. They are still nice, they still kick ass, just not my favorite. If i had a choice between an e39 and acura or some shit, id pick the E39.But if i had the chance to pick between an E30 and an E39, id pick the E30.

Idk if my posts have a attitude to them or anything, i dont mean it too. Just talkin and learning. Last thing i wanna do is insult someone and not even know it.

Haha fair enough. That being said, the E39 5 series is considered one of the best looking sedans of it's time and comparatively, the E60 was a huge step away from them and is widely regarded as a less attractive car (obviously these are just opinions)

Most people think Jessica Alba is hot (e39) but some cant get enough Rosie O'Donnell (e60)
