  • Drifting setup?

Ive always been interested in drifting. What are some mods I can do to make my car easier to drift? Im thinking of upgrading to a LSD. Car doesnt have one atm

I just want my car to be rdy for this coz I think I wana start practicing. Im also thinking disabling EPS and ABS completely

Heres a video of my car being drifted by the drift king so I know its driftable out of the factory but its obviously not the easiest car to drift. What kinda tires do people normally run for this?

Mine is already lowered on stiffer springs and shocks and its runing wider wheels

LSD. a great deal of suspension parts. You want front wheels to have maximum possible steering angle and the right degree of camber.

Before you go mod-crazy, it would be a good idea to learn about the dynamics of it. Figure out what techniques work best for both your driving ability and the car's abilities (power, grip, steering angle). After you do that, it will be easier to build the car to suit those parameters.

My best advice to you is to not spend any money on the Benz and just go buy a beater 240sx 5 speed and weld the diff. It'll be easier to learn and it'll be less money in the long run.

BTW, that really wasn't drifting in that video. It was throttle oversteer. If you want to do that enter a corner fast, brake hard on turn in, then jump back on the gas. The violent weight transfer should make the rear come around. Its up to you to try to catch it.

I don't think that a slushbox Benz would be ideal for drifting, especially for someone just learning.

I agree with Bolger, a majority of it is technique (for very controlled drifts).

I think your gonna want something with three pedals (not counting the dead one!) I'd go the Nissan 240 route as others have said, they can be picked up fairly cheap.

wow. like everyone says, please find a beater. i'd **** to see that benz get smashed up.. find a s13 or something. trust me parts are easier to find too, I've smashed up my fenders a few times (hey its a learning process hehe) and found fenders the next day for dirt cheap.
