  • Being a Delivery Boy?

Is anyone here a delivery boy? I am thinking about doing it because its good money, and I actually enjoy driving a lot. What are your guys' thoughts on being one? Pros and cons?

          Cons-
You turn your car on and off a lot.

You risk your life/car/money/etc because you might get robbed, especially in lower rent neighborhoods.

Long hours to make up for gas, insurance, maintenance, etc

Need new insurance for professionally used vehicle

          Pros-

          Get to drive a lot.

You learn all the local neighborhoods.

          How I know this:
I looked into doing this and I asked friends who did delivery driving.

Well around my area I really don't have to worry about low rent areas. And its all under the table so I have no idea, I will talk to my friend who is a delivery boy and see what he says regarding around here. But anyone else got any input?

I decided against it because I had/have a rare car so it'd be a shame to wear it down delivering pizza.

I did it for about a year, made pretty good money doing it. I'd suggest only doing it at a pizza shop on the nicest side of town, better tips. The only drag is the wear and tear on your car, brake jobs, oil changes, etc. and smelling/feeling greasy all the time.

Just wondering, what do you mean by "don't have to worry about low rent areas".

The town that I am in and the surrounding area is umm quite wealthy lets say, the low end of town would be the upper class of most areas in the country. My area is quite well off.

I have a friend who delivers pizza in NJ in a S4 with a stage 2 kit. Only bad part would be 1) putting miles on your car and 2) affording gas if people don't tip

I don't care about putting miles on the whip. I can afford gas judging by what I hear about people around here they tip pretty generously.
