the widebody idea thread

yeah i know i have a build thread. but im posting this here for ideas. i like hearing other peoples insights because it usually triggers other ideas for me. kind of like House. haha

so im kind of stumped as to what im going to paint my engine bay/jams since im vinyling the car. the vinyl i MAY be able to tuck it all in there. but the engine bay i obviously cant use that stuff.


i need to paint the bay and underside of the hood a certain color. i was thinking just a classic glossy black. everything under the hood is going to be black with the exception of a few painted/polished parts.

or i was thinking of painting it a similar color to what im wrapping it, but make it glossy so it pops more.

black is at the top of my list as of right now... ideas?

For some reason I thought of green on the engine bay, I don't know why but I did. Like a metalllic green or maybe neon green? idk. I'm bad when it comes to choosing colors

So when u choose ur vinyl color I would do the same color for the engine bay but w/pearl n lotza clear. Just a suggestion. No....?

Or, if you do it gloss black just do less black on the motor.

Accent the motor with highlights from what ever vinyl color you choose?

Black, and make the engine cover/fluid tops copper. The combo of gloss black + copper always wins IMO.

what do you guys think of me rocking a shaved rear and turn down tips? ive ALWAYS wanted to do this, not sure how it would look with a widebody though.

it would be very similar to that up there, but you would see 2 chrome tips popping out a little from under the bumper.

oh and i think the bay should be a completely different color. I love that shit. Like that saab green color that came on the verts or something like that. If the outside is gonna be flat then do a crazy metallic pearl bright paint color for the bay.
