  • What to do...

Im wanting to sell my car and get something new(er). i have a 2000 audi TT with 117423 miles. My biggest issue is that i owe 7200 on the car.

    MODS:
    Koni coilovers
    APR 93 oct software
    upgraded from a ko3 to a ko3s turbo
    aftermarket intake
    2.5 inch downpipe
    forge diverter valve
    samco TIP
    Badgeless front grill
    HID 10k bulbs
    LiquidTT gauge from mcpii
Prosport boost gauge with vent ring to allow air through
    dieselgeek skid plate
    15 and 20 mm spacers
front headlights - shaved the reflectors and got rid of the orange
o2 spacer from mcpii - i do not have a cat. converter

exterior is in really good shape, minus a couple small dings from car doors.

    the bad:
the cluster is fading in some places as you can see in the picture.
rear o2 sensor needs to be replaced. it is throwing a few codes for it. i just havent gotten around to doing it.
the brake pads and rotors are fine, but could use a replacement in the near future

I have most of the stock parts so that i can sell of the mods if need be.

    so my question is this:

do i try and sell it as it is right now with the mods, or do i take it back to stock and sell off the parts and car seperate?

the trade in value isnt equal to what i owe by any means. is it possible to walk away with money in my pocket. my fear is that i may at best break even.

Ive been in your position where I had a car I still owed money on and just wanted something newer plus things started to go out. I just kept my car and fixed it, that was my cheapest option. If you fix the down-steam o2 sensor and replace the pads/rotors you can maybe sell it for $8,000 if you find the right buyer.

Right now is a horrible time to sell a car. People don't buy cars like they use to. So finding a person who has the money to spend it on a car right now is possible, but its going to take time.

Whats the rush to sell it? Do you absolutely need a newer car or is it just something you want. Your car looks sick as it is now. I would just fix the few simple problems that you have and keep it as long as you can.

no urgent need to get another car. im just wanting to go a different route. i keep putting money into this car while all the time wanting something different. I dont want to keep wasting money if im not truly happy with it to begin with.

im wanting a MKV r32 or GTI. the TT has been a great car and i enjoy it. i feel like a got a base model wishing i had the limited edition. just my thoughts...

        i drove by a dealer that had 2 mk1 TT's, both under 8.5k
that said, idk the condition, miles, options, etc.

i'd say keep it for now, or if you must get rid of it, take it back to stock. that would be your most wallet friendly option.

yes, i think that if i must get serious about it. i need to take it back to stock. trade it in and be able to have money to use for the negative equity.

You could always post up a few WTT ads in the classifieds, you never know what might happen!
