  • In Need of a New Monitor for Photography. Suggestions?!

Ok so basically I am in the market for a new monitor, I would look at matte IPS monitor, but so far (and I haven't done that much research so far) I have only really found the Dell 2209wa which looks great but its only 1680x1050 and I would much prefer 1920x1200 or something to that extent. Those are really my only requirements matte and 1920+ but I also don't want to go above 24" because then it just starts getting too big (especially since it will be in a dorm room next year).

So any ideas would really be helpful. I will continue to research as well. Just wanted to see what you guys could suggest.

    Thanks!

24 inch iMac is a no brainer for a dorm room. I have the 27 inch and my workflow with photo editing has increased dramatically. It is also by far the best value in Mac os. Grab one next month and get the iPod touch for free99

I would get an iMac, but I already have an MBP and I dont really want to drop 1g+ on a monitor. I was thinking of getting a refurbed Dell U2410 or maybe a 2209wa. (But I really want 1920x1200).

We all know how that will go.. The only iMac I would ever buy is the 27" anyway because that display is gorgeous, but its glossy which makes me sad.

                        That would be Windows 7.

I have used 7 on the new iMac's and it looks quite impressive. Hey perhaps he wanted the display more than actually having the OS.

I use both daily, and I must say each has its ups and downs, OS X really is much more user friendly, but nothing beats going into Windows and messing around with random shit, that does cool stuff. OS X I tend to use more for the less labor intensive tasks, and my desktop (runs Windows) I use for all the intensive stuff (gaming, video editing, etc).

Once I sell this 13" MBP I have now and I get a 15" i5 MBP I will use that for video editing, because I much prefer FCP to Vegas + After Effects.
